About me

Samira Sadeque is a writer, poet and journalist who uses various avenues of the written word to address issues including violence & conflict, women's rights, minority rights, and social inclusion. She is a ifa Fellow from 2014, and has been published locally and on international blogs. Samira believes that one of the biggest changes needed today is that of people's mindset and attitude - something that can be addressed by moving and inspiring people through art. For this, she focuses on writing, and aims to speak to the common people through poetry, spoken word and other mediums. In 2014, she co-founded the Dhaka-based English spoken word group Ampersand.
