About me

Zaiba Tahyya is the founder and CEO of Female Empowerment Movement (FEM). The organization focuses on empowerment of females from low-income communities in Bangladesh through self-defense, bicycle training, and technical skills. She is also a founding member of Casper Foundation, an organization that works with student leaders from local universities. Previously, Zaiba worked as a research associate in Police Staff College and her main area of research was violence against women in Bangladesh. Zaiba calls herself a gym junkie. In her free time, Zaiba likes lifting weights and spending hours at the gym. She has been told she has an uncanny resemblance to Popeye the Sailorman which actually makes her really happy!
